Terry

CRASH FILE:

  • 16May 1982, Collie, WA. Aged 15.
  • Suzuki RM125 motocross bike
  • Spine shattered at T12/L1 vertebra (back)

Terry, 44, is witty, articulate, curious, creative and chaotic

Terry became a paraplegic at the tender age of 15, riding his motocross bike on the outskirts of Collie, a small town in country Western Australia. The front wheel of the bike sank into a hole and he went over the handlebars, landing awkwardly on a log.

Terry, an entrepreneur specialising in sustainable electric vehicles, rides as far as Uluru in central Australia before he has to return to Perth to maintain his business interests. Funny and relaxed, Terry is a family man with a wife and three kids. Without the looming challenge of a distant goal and deadline, Terry can offer some much-needed comic relief.
